As the President and CEO of CBG, Mr. McCullom has over 25 years in the Employee Benefits Marketplace and began his career with UNUM in 1986. He was recruited by Genworth in 1988 and within two short years; he became the top Sales Executive in the nation, a position that he held for four of his six years prior to his promotion to Regional Sales Director - the youngest ever appointed by Genworth. The transition from Sales to Management worked out well for Mr. McCullom and during his two year mangement tenure; his regional sales force increased revenue from just $25M to over $300M.
In 1997, Mr. McCullom waived good-bye to Genworth and founded CBG in Boston, MA. - without a single client. In under five years, Mr. McCullom had grown CBG so quickly, the firm soon attracted national attention of many publicly traded firms. In 2004, Mr. McCullom finally relented and sold his business to National Financial Partners ( NYSE: NFP ) in 2004. Mr. McCullom eventually assumed independent control of CBG and as an independent brokerage agency and shortly thereafter guided revenue to its highest level ever. CBG has since maintained double digit revenue growth though 2013.† His firm was recently recognized by the Boston Busness Journal as "the fastest growing Employee Benefits Company in New England."††
Mr. McCullom received a BA in Economics and Government from Bowdoin College and holds a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation. He holds a Series 6 and 6A securities license and is currently working towards a CFA degree.
Mr. McCullom has previously sat on the Board of Directors for The Lawrence Girls and Boys Club and is involved in a number of local charities. He also has established a scholarship program for impoverished and underprivileged children in the Merrimack Valley. The scholarship program was inspired by Mr. McCullom's work at the Hennessey School in Lawrence, MA. when he was in High School.
When Mr. McCullom is not working, he is generally coaching his three active children in local sports. He is married and lives in Andover, MA.
As CFO of CBG, Mr. Gersham is responsible for implementing a turn-key financial and accounting software system for the firm. He is also responsible for creating and establishing alternate funding vehicles for our clients and is the liaison between CBG and our Third Party Administrators. Mr. Gersham has been the architect of several of our new High Deductible products, including our CBG H.R.A./H.S.A. Solutions portfolios.
Mr. Gersham received his BA in Accounting from Babson College in 1982 and was previously employed at Deloitte Consulting. Prior to that, he managed the structured finance desk at Givenchy Partners, LLC in New York. Mr. Gersham also received a JD from Suffolk Law School in 1988.
When Mr. Gersham is not working, he is an avid golfer and skier. He lives in Lynnfield, MA with his wife and his daughter. He recently completed his 1st marathon with an impressive 3:15:23 time.
As the COO and Director of our Service Team at CBG, Mr. Madigan is responsible for managing our Service and Retention Team. He implemented Customserve, which is the proprietary service software system in place at CBG. Previous to his employment at CBG, he was an AVP with Omnicare Health Plans where he was responsible for maintaining healthcare accounts for several Fortune 500 companies.
Mr. Madigan received his BA from Bates College in 1984 and his MBA from UMC in 1986. He is a licensed Life and Health Agent in the State of MA. and is currently working on his Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation.
Jim is an avid golfer and biker and continues to ride in the PMC Challenge each year. He is married with four children and resides in Nashua, N.H.
Mr. Benson was the second person hired by CBG and has also been responsible for many for the successes enjoyed by CBG over the years. In addition to his own personal production, Mr. Benson is also our Sales Director and is responsible for successfully managing the CBG Sales Team - which has experienced record new business growth since his appointment as Sales Director in 1998.
Joe also specializes in advising and consulting employers on Group Medical, Life, Disability, and 401(k) Retirement Plans, Alternate Funding, Cost Containment, and Compliance issues.
Mr. Benson received his BA from University of Maine (Orono) in 1984 and is a fully licensed Life and Health Agent in MA. Joe is currently working on his Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation.
Joe is an avid runner and also stays active coaching his children in youth hockey.
Mr. Benson was the second person hired by CBG and he has been a significant contributor to the successes enjoyed by CBG. In addition to his own personal production,
